The largest collection
of the man, anywhere.

An hour and a quarter with a guide inside the Picasso Museum, in the Gothic palaces of Carrer Montcada. The ticket and skip-the-line access are included, and when the guided part ends the museum is still yours.

The Picasso Museum holds the largest collection of the artist anywhere: 4,251 works in the permanent collection, spread through five Gothic palaces on Carrer Montcada. It is not the museum of the famous Picassos. It is the museum of how he got there.

You go in with an expert guide, in the language you choose, for an hour and a quarter. The entry ticket and skip-the-line access are both included.

What you see

The collection runs from the training years to the late work, and three pieces anchor the visit. Science and Charity, painted when he was fifteen and still doing what his father wanted. Royan, from the years in France. And Las Meninas — the series where he takes Velázquez apart canvas by canvas and puts him back together as something else.

How the visit runs

An hour and a quarter guided. Then the guide leaves and you do not: the ticket is yours for the rest of the visit, so you can go back to the rooms that held you and take the time the guided route could not give them.

Skip the line

The ticket is bought in advance and you enter through the reserved entrance instead of the ticket queue. Carrer Montcada is a narrow medieval street and the queue for this museum runs down it, so this one matters.

Where we meet

At Palau Dalmases, Carrer Montcada 20, in El Born — the same street as the museum. Metro L4 Jaume I is the closest stop. Your guide waits at the entrance with the Walking Planets sign.

What is not included

Hotel transfer in either direction, radio guides, and the guide’s tip, which is optional and never expected.

What makes it ours

  • 01 The entry ticket and skip-the-line access are both in the price. On Carrer Montcada that is not a small thing.
  • 02 4,251 works in the permanent collection — the largest collection of the artist anywhere in the world.
  • 03 Science and Charity, Royan and Las Meninas: the paintings that show him before he was Picasso, and long after.
  • 04 An expert guide in the language you choose, not a recorded commentary handed to you at the door.
  • 05 When the guided hour and a quarter is over you stay. The ticket does not expire when the tour does.
