The Palau Dalmases is a baroque palace in El Born with a courtyard, a carved staircase and a room that holds about sixty people. Flamenco in there is not a show you watch from row twelve — you hear the breathing and the boards.
For roughly sixty minutes the artists take turns on stage: dancers, guitar and cante, in the sequence flamenco actually follows rather than a greatest-hits set for coaches.
Two things can be added. A private masterclass, where the group stops being an audience and learns the basics from one of the dancers. And tapas with wine around the show, which turns an hour into an evening.

The room is small and it sells out, especially in high season and at weekends. Ask early rather than the same afternoon.
Photos without flash are usually fine; video is not. The artists are three metres away and it shows.
